Funding Inititiatives

Latexo ISD has been represented at 3 different meetings regarding education issues that need to be conveyed to our Texas Legislature. Superintendent Dr. Stacy Easterly and Business Manager Jo Lane have attended meetings to push for Small School Finance Reform. Senator Robert Nichols came to Crockett ISD and met with area Superintendents to see what information he could take back to Austin. On Thursday, October 27 th Dr. Easterly and Jo Lane went to Austin to the Capitol to meet with the Equity Center that helps schools get legislature passed. This meeting was very informative on how to proceed on these issues and band together to make a stronger voice. Friday, October 28 th they met with House of Representative Trent Ashby. This meeting was very informative as well in letting the House know our thoughts and ideas on this finance issue. Latexo ISD will continue to be represented during this crucial time of the Legislature.

Sheriff's Deputy on Campus

You may see a new face on Latexo ISD campuses. The Houston County Sherrif's office was awarded a grant to provide security officers to schools in our county. These officers will be on our campus and interacting with our students at random times.  Please do not worry, they are here to help the district and your students.  I would like to thank the Houston County Sherrif's department for this valuable resource.
