Superintendent Mr. Michael Woodard
What an exciting time this is to be a Latexo Tiger! The future of our district is strong and I’m honored to be able to bring my vision and passion to the long history of success of Latexo ISD. Throughout my career as an educational leader, my style of leadership has helped foster a climate of trust, where structured risk and innovation are encouraged. I am visible to all, set a high standard of ethics, and lead by example.
I have almost twelve years of administrative experience in an academic setting. For the past two years, I have served Crockett ISD as their Junior High Principal. Prior to this, I was the superintendent of Zavalla ISD and worked as a campus administrator in Livingston ISD. I am a 1987 graduate of Corrigan High School. After graduating from high school, I worked in the private sector for several years. I have always felt that this period of hard work taught me several valuable lessons that I can pass on to students, as well as reinforce the importance and need for strong vocational programs in our school districts. I made the decision to return to college to pursue a teaching degree with an interest in being an athletic coach. Athletics also had a great influence on my character development and I felt that I could bring that same experience to other young adults. I worked as a teacher and a coach in Trinity, Diboll, and Livingston districts before accepting an administrative position. My wife and I were married in 2004 while I worked in Diboll ISD and at that time we began our life in Corrigan where I reside with my wife, Misty, and my two children. We live on family land in my hometown, where I enjoy coaching their little league teams and spending time with other family that live in the area. I consider East Texas to be my home and where I plan to remain during my tenure in education.
I am amazed at the heart of this community and I am proud to lead Latexo ISD.
