Texas Education Agency has allowed the governing board of a school system to modify or eliminate by formal action our current guidance based on Executive Order GA-29 mask-related requirements. We do not currently have any active student or staff cases in our district, and in fact, the last recorded positive case in our district was on January, 27, 2021. We feel at Latexo ISD it is time to lift some of the restrictions that we had to put in place to help fight the pandemic we were faced with. We still plan to practice good hygiene habits with the washing of hands and the use of hand sanitizer. We are still practicing social distancing and will continue to check temperatures as students report to school each day.

On March 18, 2021 our school board voted to change the mask mandate that came from Executive Order GA-29 from a required mandate to recommended on face coverings. Beginning Monday March 22, 2021 wearing a face covering at Latexo ISD will be a recommended practice but not a required mandate. We will continue to monitor this situation and will make any changes that are needed to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We want to thank everyone for your understanding and support of our district during this time.
